e-Alert: EEOC Extends EEO-1 Deadline for 2019 and 2020 Data Submissions

By August 2, 2021No Comments

Background

On June 28, 2021, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) announced employers will now have extra time to submit their 2019 and 2020 EEO-1 workforce data.

Summary

Under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the EEO-1 is usually due by March 31 of each year. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, however, EEO-1 reporting was delayed numerous times, with the EEOC portal officially opening on April 26, 2021. The deadline for completing submissions for 2019 and 2020 workforce data was extended until July 19, 2021, and has now been extended again until August 23, 2021.

Employers Next Steps

  • For up-to-date information regarding EEO Reports, visit the EEOC website.
  • Eligible filers should begin submitting 2019 and 2020 EEO-1 data in the portal and ensure they complete their submissions by August 23, 2021.
