What is a company-sponsored flu clinic?
A company sponsored flu clinic is an event during which the employer group hires certified nurses to set-up an on-site “clinic” to offer their employees an opportunity to become immunized without having to leave the office. The CDC recommends a yearly flu vaccine as the first and most important step in protecting against flu viruses.

United Healthcare (UHC) works with four different third-party vendors: CVS/Pharmacy, Rite Aid, Kmart Pharmacy and Walgreens.

There is a 20-50 shot minimum required for an on-site clinic, the minimum varies by vendor. If you do not anticipate 20 people, there flu shots are available at many retail pharmacy locations and network convenience care clinics.

When are the flu clinics scheduled?
The dates that the clinics are scheduled/offered differ between vendors. To set up a flu clinic, please provide at least three weeks lead time to coordinate the event.

How much does it cost?
Members should review their benefit plan to determine coverage for flu immunizations.
